Dale Robert Dahl was born on June 21, 1960 to Orley and Geraldine (Siegfried) Dahl in Redwood Falls, MN. He was the second son to what was soon to be a family of eight children. Dale attended school in Bird Island. He enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1978. After his naval service, Dale returned to Bird Island to live. In 1982, Dale met his soul mate Carla Osman, and two children would join them in their life journey; Jessica born in 1983 and Daniel in 1985. Dale and Carla with their children made their home in Bird Island. Together, Dale and Carla enjoyed going on adventures and traveling. Dale especially liked to go for cruises in the country visiting friends and family and chasing storms in his car. Throughout Dale’s life he worked various jobs including: Hector Farms, O&S Construction, Loftness Manufacturing, Asplundh Tree Trimming, Jacobsen Tree Trimming, Island Construction, and helping local farmers. He wasn’t afraid of work; he was a hard worker and took pride in doing a good job. His black lab, Jake, was his loving companion for many years. They enjoyed going for walks in the Riverbottom, Birch Cooley, and county parks in Minnesota. Being outdoors canoeing, camping, fishing, and hunting brought him much joy. He was not a fan of technology but did enjoy playing casino games on Carla’s phone in the comfort of his own home. Dale and his dad both liked playing pool. After his dad passed, Dale was given the nickname ‘Hollywood’ by those that played pool with his dad. Dale was a man of few words but had many deep thoughts. Although he didn’t always outwardly express himself, those close to him knew that he loved them. He will be remembered for being fun loving with a great sense of humor always trying to get those around him worked up especially with his ‘Mindless Call.’

Dale is survived by his soul mate of 40 years, Carla Osman of Bird Island; his beloved dog, Jake; his children: Jessica (and Jared) of St. Cloud and Daniel (and Amanda) of Olivia; his four grandchildren: Owen & Addison Schwanke and Jazmine & Wyatt Dahl; his mother, Geraldine Dahl of Bird Island; his siblings: Richard Dahl of Hugo, Kevin Dahl of Bird Island, Rebecca (and Ken) Leddy of Jarrell, TX, Tami (and Randy) Steffel of Bird Island, Stacy (and Todd) Schwarzrock of Maple Grove, and Lisa (and Ben) Ervin of Olivia; Carla’s mother, Shirley Osman; Carla’s siblings, Lynn (and Brad) Wenker and Gail (and Doug) Schick; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
