A memorial service for Carol Ann Behrens, 81 of Echo, MN, will take place at 2:00p.m. Friday March 31st, at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo, MN. A public visitation will be held at Peace Lutheran Church Friday from 1:00p.m. – 2:00p.m. Private family burial will take place at Appleton City Cemetery at a later date. 

Carol Ann Behrens was born on December 21st, 1941 to Alfred and Marie (Graslie) Bergjord in Hendricks, MN. She was raised in Astoria, SD. She graduated from Astoria High School on May 22, 1959. Upon graduation she continued her education at General Beadle State Teachers College in Madison, SD. Carol married Ralph Behrens on January 25, 1964 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Astoria, SD.  Carol and Ralph lived in various places throughout Minnesota before settling in Echo, MN in 1974. 

Carol was employed as an assembly line worker in the Granite Falls and Redwood Falls areas for many years. Carol and Ralph liked to travel throughout Minnesota to their friend’s rodeo shows. She enjoyed working in her garden, watching westerns on TV and working on puzzles with her family. Her grandchildren were important to her making it a point to attend all of the extracurricular activities she could. Carol was fond of shaking dice at the shed and watching Minnesota sports. 

Carol died on March 27th 2023 at Twin Town Villa in Breckenridge, MN. 

She is survived by her children Kimberly (David) Chase, Fawn (Milo) Smith, Anita (John) Dulmage, sister LeDonna Potter, half-brother Norris Bergjord, grandchildren Sydney and Sarah Chase, Carolyn and Mason Smith, John, William and Brooke Dulmage, sister-in-law Patricia (James) Jaskoviak, brother-in-law Arvid (Jan) Behrens, sister-in-law Joyce Behrens, brother-in-law Stanley Wilts, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Behrens, parents Alfred and Marie Bergjord, half-brother Evenor Bergjord, and half-sister Helen Dolph.
