Barbara D. Marso

Barbara D. Marso age 80, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on February 21, 2022, at New Ulm Medical Center.

Funeral Service will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at 11:00 am.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the church prior to the service.

The clergy will be Father Mark Steffl.

Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Barbara Dorothy Marso was born on March 5th, 1941 to Mathias “Matt” and Mabel (Revier) Marso in Franklin, MN. As a child Barbara was a member of 4-H from the age of 9 until she was 19. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1959. She worked for 32 years for the Dayton Hudson Corporation in the Twin Cities until she retired in 1999. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Barbara was a thoughtful and generous gift giver to 15 nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing cards, especially sheephead and 500 rummy, doing jigsaw puzzles and traveling.

Barbara is mourned by her brother, Gilbert Marso of Parkers Prairie, MN; sisters, Ruth (Jerome) Steffl of Sleepy Eye, Veronica (Duke) Schroeder of Mankato, MN; along with 14 nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mathias “Matt” and Mabel Marso; sister, Sylvia (John) Steffl, sister-in-law, Marjorie Marso, and niece Kathy Schroeder.
