Arlene Kletscher, 89, of Vesta, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Parkview Home in Belview. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta with a livestream on St. John’s Lutheran Church Facebook page. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. The family requests that face masks be worn.  Interment will be in the Vesta Cemetery. Arlene Anna Alma (Bode) Kletscher was born May 24, 1932, to Lawrence and Josephine (Raddatz) Bode on the family farm in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Arlene attended District 46 School and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1951. She completed a six-month program at Mankato Commercial College, then worked for the Minnesota State Employment Office in Marshall until her marriage. On September 25, 1954, Arlene married the love of her life, Elvern Kletscher, at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. The couple farmed, milked cows and raised their six children on a farm near Vesta. In 1993, they retired and moved to Vesta. Arlene belonged to many organizations, including the Vesta Legion Auxiliary, St. John’s Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, Senior Citizens, Extension Club and Craft Club. She also taught Sunday School. Arlene enjoyed reading, doing counted cross stitch, and gardening, especially flowers. She was a kind and compassionate woman who lived her faith. Arlene loved spending time with her family.

Arlene is survived by her children: Douglas (Twilia) of Westbrook, Audrey (Randy) Helbling of Faribault, Lanae (Dale) Feser of Waseca, Brian (Vicki) of Lamberton, Monica (Tom) Davison of Waseca, and Bradley (Joanne) of Woodbury; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy (Robin) Bowman of Fanwood, N.J., Rachel (Robert) Sanford of Marionville, MO. and John Bode of Minneapolis; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvern; infant sister Deloris; brothers-in-law: Glenn Borning, Harvey Meier, Myron Kletscher, Harold Kletscher, Clarence Kletscher and Darold Rudenick; and sisters-in-law: Elaine Borning, Elvira Meier, Margaret Kletscher and Susan Bode.
