Arlene Joan (Hoffrogge) Thiel, age 86, of Redwood Falls went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, August 18, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Peace Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.

Arlene was born on August 6, 1937 to Henry and Anna (Henning) Hoffrogge. She attended Revere School until 7th grade and then went to Walnut Grove High School class of 1955. She received a scholarship to business school but chose to marry the love of her life Norman Thiel on November 26th, 1955.
Norm and Arlene made their home in Redwood Falls. Arlene worked for Kens Surplus, Paynter Produce, Dari King, Theater, Galles, Wilsons, A&W Furniture and made custom drapes and did wallpapering with her dear friend Jan Revier. Arlene did altering and custom sewing until she became ill in March.
Norm & Arlene enjoyed summers in their cabin on Big Kandoyohi. She was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.
Arlene wanted to personally thank her niece Sandi for years of friendship, travel, visits and bringing her dog Harli to see her. Many thanks also to Mary Christiansen and Jax for stopping to check on her every night and years of friendship. A very special Thank You to Doug’s wife Christi for taking care of me. Arlene and her family want to thank hospice caregivers Jolene, Wendy, and Dr. Muller for all their love and care.
Arlene is survived by her son Doug (Christi) of Zimmerman, MN, son, Rod (Deb Rohner) of Spicer, MN; grandchildren, Dylan, Ashley, D.J., Brandon and Kyle; two great grandchildren, Colton and Annabelle; sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Dave Garvin of Candy, OR and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded death by her parents Henry and Anna Hoffrogge; and loving husband Norman, who passed away in 2013.
