The funeral service for Amy Werner, 86, of Belview, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Friday, one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. all at Grace Lutheran Church.  Interment will follow the service at the Grace Lutheran Cemetery.  A livestream of the service will be available at www.gracelutheranchurchbelview.com and a recording of the service will be available at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com.

Amy Lorraine (Sander) Hunteman Werner was born on November 7, 1935, in Swedes Forest Township, Redwood County, MN, to Tyler and Emma (Grannes) Sander.  She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Belview High School in 1953.  In 1954, she was united in marriage to Bruce Hunteman.  To this union were born daughters Deb and Teresa.  The couple lived in the twin cities for a time and Amy worked for a bank in St. Paul.  After Bruce’s death, Amy moved back to Belview.  On November 3, 1961, she was married to Robert Werner.  To this union were born sons Scott and Tim.  Amy provided in-home daycare and later worked in the Belview Bank for many years until her retirement in the spring of 2001.  Amy always loved the outdoors.  She enjoyed hiking, camping, and especially after her retirement, time spent at the wood lot North of Belview.  She also enjoyed going to estate sales and auctions and playing games and cards, especially Scrabble and Buck Euchre.  She will be remembered for piercing ears for many young ladies over the years.  She will also be remembered for her famous potato salad.  After Robert’s death, Amy moved to the Parkwood Assisted Living in Belview, and later, the Parkview Senior Living.

Amy died on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Parkview Senior Living in Belview, MN.  She is survived by her children Deb (Terry) Zimmer of Echo, Teresa Hunteman of Minneapolis, Scott Werner (Barb Maruska) of Minneapolis, Tim (Kelly) Werner of Echo, grandchildren Rachel (Chad) Heinrich, Whitney (Chris) Enestvedt, Alex Zimmer (fiancé Tracy), Stephanie Werner, Zach Werner and Jake Werner, great-grandchildren Kenzie, Jase, Kyia, Brayden, Chloe, Citi, Stella and Charlie, brother Eugene (Margaret) Sander, and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husbands Bruce and Robert, parents, grandchildren Christopher Zimmer, Ryan Zimmer and Aleyse Hunteman, siblings Orris (Nellie) Sander and Alvan (LaVonne) Sander.
