A Wisconsin man, Teng Vang, age 40, has been sentenced in Redwood County Court for a felony assault that occurred in Walnut Grove last July.

According to court documents, on July 9, at about 4:53 a.m., the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was called to a report of an assault at a residence in Walnut Grove, in which the victim had been hit on the head with a hammer. Deputies arrived to find the victim and two witnesses outside the residence. The witnesses stated they had handcuffed the attacker, Teng Vang, who was still armed with a knife.

Deputies called for Vang to come out. When he didn’t, they entered the residence and found it in disarray, with splotches of blood on the floor and furniture. The witnesses shouted that Vang had run around to the back of the residence. Deputies found him in a vehicle, which he had to be escorted him from.

During his arrest, Vang allegedly flailed about on the ground and threatened the lives of the deputies.

On Nov. 17, Teng Vang was sentenced to 28 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud.
