A senior citizen was injured in a three-vehicle collision north of Windom Saturday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 10:48 a.m. on April 23, two vehicles were both northbound on Highway 71: a 1998 Buick Park Avenue driven by Jack Harold Schaffer, age 76, of Windom, and a 2020 Ford Fusion being driven by Kevin Michael Carr, age 26, of Moorhead.

About three miles north of Windom, the vehicles collided, sending Carr’s Fusion into the path of an oncoming Kenworth semi-truck being driven by Donald Authur Jahr, age 53, of Jamestown, Tennessee.

Schaffer was transported to the Windom Area Health with non-life threatening injuries.

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Windom Police, Fire, and Ambulance departments assisted at the scene.
