Willmar woman injured in Thursday collision with semi-truck

A Willmar woman was injured in a collision with a semi-truck in Kandiyohi County Thursday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 11:20 a.m. on Jan. 7, a 2016 Freightliner semi-truck being driven by Rocky Lee Hulit, age 64, of McNabb, IL, was turning left at Highway 9 onto Highway 23. As the trailer was blocking the lane, a westbound 2008 Toyota Highlander being driven by Magalo Gabow Jimale, age 31, of Willmar, was unable to stop and collided with the rear of the trailer.

Jimale was transported to Rice Memorial hospital in Willmar with non-life threatening injuries.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and New London Fire Department assisted at the scene.
