Willmar truck driver injured in three-vehicle Kandiyohi County crash Monday

A Willmar truck driver was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Kandiyohi County Monday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Aug. 21,at about 4:28 p.m., a Peterbilt semi-truck driven by Jerry Martin Costello, age 48, of Grove City, and a 2021 Freightliner box truck driven by Matthew John Stegeman, age 24, of Willmar, collided east of the intersection of Highway 7 and 60th Street SE.

During the collision, a tire came off the semi trailer and struck a 2015 Hyundai Azera being driven by Judith Helene Jarnot, age 54, of Columbia Heights.

Stegeman received non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to the hospital in Willmar.

Assisting on the scene were the kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, the Lake Lillian Ambulance, CentraCare Ambulance, Blomkest Fire Department, and Kandiyohi Rescue.
