A Willmar man, David Reymundo Valadez, age 23, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for an assault that occurred last August.

According to court documents, on Aug. 22, at about 1:30 a.m., law enforcement was called to a report of at least five individuals brawling at an area bar. Security had observed a man approach two individuals and get into an argument, which turned violent.  Valadez stepped into to assist his friend, and hit one of his opponents. All individuals were held by security until the Sheriff’s Office arrived.

Valadez was released to a sober individual and issued a citation for fifth degree assault and disorderly conduct. On March 14, David Raymundo Valadez was sentenec to 90 days local confinement, stayed 64 days for one year with 26 days credit for time served, one year supervised probation, and fees and fines of $285.
