Willmar man injured in Chippewa County collision

A Wilmar man suffered life-threatening injuries in a Chippewa County collision Wednesday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on June 7, A 2012 Ford pickup driven by Jose Ramon Delgadoacosta, age 23, of Houston, Texas, was northbound on Chippewa County Road 4, while Kyle Reider Cappelen, age 29, of Willmar was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer westbound on Highway 40. At about 8:19 a.m., the vehicles collided at the intersection.

Delgadoacosta received minor injuries treated at the scene. Cappelen was transported to the hospital in St. Cloud with serious injuries. Assisting on the scene were the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Murdock Fire Department, and ambulances from Benson, Maynard, and Boon Dock.
