Willmar man dies in truck rollover Friday morning

A Willmar man was killed when the truck he was driving rolled over in Kandiyohi County Friday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 12:36 a.m., a 2014 International Prostar semi-truck driven by Gary Kim Vergin, age 65, of Willmar, was traveling west on Highway 12. Near the intersection of 45th Street SE, the semi-truck lost control on the icy roads and rolled. Vergin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Assisting at the scene were the Willmar Police Department, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Department, Minnesota Department of Transportation, and Carris Health Ambulance.
