A Willmar man, Esteban Ramos, age 37, has been sentenced to 240 months in prison for shooting at a Willmar police officer during a traffic stop last year, minus the 612 days Ramos has already spent in jail after his arrest. According to KWLM, Ramos’s attorney unsuccessfully argued Ramos was mentally ill at the time.

On Wednesday the judge also separately sentenced Ramos to five years in prison for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Court records did not indicate if Ramos will serve the two sentences concurrently or one after the other.
