Vernon Center Woman Hospitalized After Cottonwood County Crash

A Vernon Center woman was hospitalized following a crash near Mountain Lake Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Highway 60 at Co Rd 27 just before 5 p.m., in Midway Township.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Crystal Marie Haas, 40, was transported to Windom Area Health with non-life threatening injuries following the crash.

A crash report says Haas was driving an SUV westbound on Highway 60, and a Buick Rainier was eastbound, making a left-hand turn on Co Rd 27 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.

The Buick driver, Richard Lee Berghorst, 57, of Bingham Lake, wasn’t injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the patrol.
