Drainage repair work for the U.S. Highway 12 resurfacing project in Willmar begins Monday, July 19. Crews will repair catch basins along the project route on US 12 from 6th Street Southeast to 24th Street Southeast. Travelers may experience temporary lane closures and are asked to slow down through the work zone.

The drainage repair portion of the project will take about one week to complete. The asphalt resurfacing portion of the project is scheduled to get underway the first week of August. Resurfacing will be done under traffic using temporary lane closures. Travelers may experience short delays.

Benefits of the project include improved drainage and a smoother road surface. The project cost is tied to an asphalt resurfacing project west of Willmar on US 12; the combined total is $1.3 million, and Central Specialties, Inc., is the contractor. Work at both locations is scheduled to be complete by the end of August. Please note that project dates could change due to unforeseeable circumstances, and that all traffic impacts may not be known at this time.
