Two teenagers were injured when the utility task vehicle they were on overturned near Olivia Monday.

On May 8, at about 7:03 p.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an UTV crash on 810th Avenue, west of US Hwy 71, about a mile southwest of Olivia. The caller reported two juveniles had sustained injuries.

Upon arrival at the scene, responders found a UTV rollover crash. The UTV had been driven by 16-year-old Jeremy Walton of Sacred Heart. Walton’s passenger was Tucker Fredeen, age 16, of Renville.

The preliminary crash investigation revealed the UTV had been traveling eastbound on 810th Avenue when it left the roadway, entered the ditch and overturned. Both teens were transported by the Olivia Ambulance Service to the Olivia Hospital and Clinic for treatment of their injuries. Walton was later flown to Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN for further treatment of his injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition.

The Olivia Ambulance Service and the Olivia Fire Department assisted at the scene. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
