Two Kerkhoven residents suffered life-threatening injuries when the vehicle they were riding in lost control near Willmar Friday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Sept. 18 Taya Lynn Broberg, age 35, was driving a Chevrolet Traverse westbound on Highway 12. At about 11:51 a.m., Broberg lost control of the vehicle on icy roads, and struck a GMC Acadia being driven eastward by Eric Duane Wall, age 42, of Atwater.

Wall was taken to Rice Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Broberg was taken to a hospital in St. Cloud with life-threatening injures, Emmitt Grant Broberg, age 8, was taken to the hospital in Willmar with non-life threatening injuries, and Gavin Jon Broberg, age 10, was taken to Minneapolis Childrens Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and Willmar Fire Department assisted on the scene.
