Two people were injured when a semi-truck collided with a tractor Tuesday morning

On June 2, at 11:34 a.m., the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an accident at the intersection of Highway 59 and 170th Ave. When Deputies arrived, they learned a semi-tractor trailer had rear ended a farm tractor pulling a sprayer as it made a left turn off Highway 59.

The driver of the semi, Steve Christenson of Bird Island, was extricated from the semi and transported by North Air Care Helicopter to North Memorial, with unknown injuries at this time. Passenger Darlene Christenson was taken by Cottonwood ambulance to the Marshall Hospital.  The driver of the farm tractor, Jonah Dovre of Porter, had no sign of injury at this time.   

The Yellow Medicine Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. Assisting on the scene were the Cottonwood Ambulance and Fire Department and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
