The replacement of traffic signs which are at the end of their service lives will begin on Monday, April 25 along several highways in southcentral and southwest Minnesota, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Traffic signs located along the following highways will be replaced:

  • Hwy 60: west of Mankato to Madelia
  • Hwy 86: from the junction of I-90 to the junction of Hwy 60
  • I-90: from east of Worthington to east of Jackson
  • Hwy 169: from the junction of Hwy 60 south of Mankato to approximately 1 mile north of Mankato

MnDOT replaces traffic signs on a 15-year cycle to ensure signs are legible for motorists during the day and at night. Over time, traffic signs experience wear and tear, and frequently lose reflectivity in low-light conditions long before indications of their age are obvious in normal conditions.

NTTK, Inc. was awarded the project with a bid of $783,029.00.
