Two Tracy residents were injured when their vehicle swerved to avoid an animal on a road in Cottonwood County Sunday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Sept. 10, Billy Thao, age 58, was driving a 2011 Jeep Wrangler westbound on Highway 62 near Windom. At about 6:37 p.m., he swerved to miss a dog on the roadway, and the vehicle went into the ditch.

Thao was transported to the hospital in Windom with non-life threatening injuries, as was his passenger, Sally S. Vang, age 55.

Assisting on the scene were the Windom Police and Fire Departments, Windom ambulance, and Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office.
