Three kayakers were rescued from a KLGR-area lake Wednesday afternoon.

On Oct. 18, at 12:09 p.m., the Lac qui Parle Sheriffs Office and Chippewa County Sheriffs Office received a phone call about three  individuals in the water in the middle of Lac qui Parle Lake, northwest of Montevideo.
Emergency personal responded to Boyd’s landing. Once on scene emergency responders located the individuals on a rock in the middle of the lake. All three were uninjured but cold.
The investigation learned one of the kayaks had developed a crack and took on water. All three kayakers and their fishing gear were recovered. All three were wearing lifejackets.
Lac qui Parle Sheriffs Office and Chippewa County Sheriffs Office was assisted by Milan first responders, Milan Fire Dept., Dawson Ambulance, Montevideo Ambulance and Minnesota State Patrol.
