Three people were injured in two separate crashes within just a few minutes along Highway 212 Wednesday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the first happened in Lac Qui Parle County. At about 6 a.m., Andrea Lynn Thompson, age 30, of Dawson, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound on Highway 212. East of Dawson, her vehicle went off the icy road into the north ditch.

Thompson was transported to Johnson Memorial Health Services with non-life threatening injuries. The Dawson Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene.

The second collision occurred a few minutes later, east of Redwood Falls. At about 6:06 a.m., a 2016 Ford F150 driven by Bruce Alan Nemitz, age 51, of Clearwater, was westbound on Highway 212.  At the ice-covered intersection of Highways 212 and 71, the F150 collided with an eastbound 2014 Jeep Compass driven by Albert Onwonga Nyamache, age 37, of Burnsville.

Nemitz and Nyamache were both transported to Carris Health – Redwood for non-life threatening injuries. The Redwood Falls Police and Fire Departments, and CentraCare Ambulance, assisted at the scene.
