The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports three people were injured in two separate accidents on Friday evening.

In the first accident, at about 6:50 p.m., two vehicles collided at the intersection of Brown County Roads 21 and 2: a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Jason Lee Gruendemann, age 44, of Springfield, and a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Ella Grace Geis, age 17, of Sanborn.

The collision sent both vehicles off the road, breaking an REA power pole. Bruendemann was transported to North Memorial Hospital, while Geis was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. According to the Sheriff’s Office, both were in stable condition, and the extent of their injuries was unknown.

The Brown County REA assisted at the scene, and area residents experienced a loss of power while repairs were made.

In the second accident, Nick Lee Meyer, age 67, of Apache Junction, Arizona, was westbound on Brown County Road 20. At about 8:38 p.m., the vehicle left the road and traveled about 50 yards in the eastbound ditch. It then crossed over 260th Avenue, and entered the drainage ditch, ending up partially submerged in water.

Meyer was transported to the Sleepy Eye Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
