On Tuesday, June 2, at 4:39 p.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was told of a head-on motor vehicle crash on US Hwy 12, near 45th Street NW in Willmar Twp.

Deputies determined that a 2004 Chevy Impala operated by a 28 year old Willmar man was traveling east bound on Hwy 12. The Impala crossed over into the oncoming lane and side-swiped a westbound enclosed trailer being pulled by a 2012 GMC pickup operated by a 37 year old Kerkhoven man. The Impala then struck a west bound 2006 Jeep Cherokee operated by a 66 year old Benson man.

The driver of the Impala was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is unknown. The driver of the 2012 GMC pickup was un-injured. The driver of the 2006 Jeep sustained minor injuries.

No names have been released yet. The crash is currently under investigation by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.
