Three men, two of them from Montevideo, were injured in a Renville County collision Sunday afternoon.

On August 28, at 12:46 PM, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Renville County Road 1 and Renville County Road 4, eight  miles south of Danube. The caller reported several people were involved and at least one person was trapped in a vehicle.

Responders found a 2017 Subaru SUV driven by 47-year-old Derek Voss of Omaha, Nebraska. The second vehicle was a 2002 Ford Focus driven by 19-year-old Calin Huntley of Montevideo.  The front seat passenger in the Ford was 19-year-old Kadin Huntley, also of Montevideo.

Preliminary investigation revealed the Ford Focus was traveling west on County Road 4 and failed to stop at the stop sign at County Road 1. The Ford Focus entered the intersection and was struck by the Subaru, which was traveling southbound on County Road 1.

The driver of the Ford Focus was transported to Health Partners-Olivia and treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Subaru was also transported to Health Partners- Olivia with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the Ford Focus, Kadin Huntley, was transported by air to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, in critical condition.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Danube Medical Response Unit, the Olivia Ambulance Service, the Olivia Fire Department, CentraCare Ambulance-Redwood Falls, North Air Care helicopter, and the Minnesota State Patrol.

This crash remains under investigation by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
