Suspected hit-and-run car found in Mankato

Law enforcement in Edina say a Chevrolet Malibu that may have hit a high school student on Thursday, Jan. 23, has been located in Mankato.

Kayla Avant, who has been released from the hospital with no major injuries, was boarding a school bus when she was struck. Security video of the scene shows the Malibu driving partly on the right shoulder of the road, and partly on the sidewalk, when it struck her.

No arrests have been made, and the suspect car has been returned to Edina.
