Stolen car crashes near Morgan after high-speed chase Friday

The suspect was injured after a stolen car crashed near Morgan on Friday evening.

According to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, on Feb. 17, at about 9 p.m., a Redwood County deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of County Road  24 and Ocean Ave. The vehicle didn’t stop; while chasing it, deputies learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Chippewa County.

The chase lasted about 10 minutes, and ended when the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed on 240th Street, south of Morgan. The driver was treated on scene by an ambulance crew, and taken into custody.

Assisting on the scene were the Redwood Falls Police Department, Morgan Ambulance, and Carris Ambulance.
