State legislators to visit KLGR-area next week on 2023 Bonding Tour

State legislators will be visiting the KLGR-area next week to learn about over 40 proposed projects that communities across the region are asking to be funded by the state. Members of the Senate Capital Investment Committee will travel to more than 35 communities in southwest Minnesota to learn about over 40 proposed projects requesting state funds, meet with local officials, and tour project sites.
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, members of the state bonding committee visit to learn about projects. At about 2:15 p.m., the committe will be in Olivia to hear about a $2.6 million request for a Water Treatment Plant Centralized Softening project, and a $12 million request for a wellness center at the hospital in Olivia.
At 3:40 p.m., the committee will be in Sacred Heart to hear about an $1.5 million request for an infrastructure project.
At 4:40 p.m., the committee will be in Hanley Falls to hear about a request for $6.4 million for water, sewer, and street infrastructure improvement.
Finally, the committee will end the day in Redwood Falls, meeting at the public library at about 6 p.m. to hear about the library’s $1 million request for expansion funds, and then at the city airport to learn about $3.3 million in anticipated runway and lighting replacement.

For Thurs., Oct. 5:  New Ulm, New Ulm Gravity Sewer and Water Main Replacement Project ($2 million), and Gaylord, County Road 21 Infrastructure Improvements ($2.6 million)
