Three South Dakota residents were injured when their sedan collided with a semi-truck on icy roads in Renville County Tuesday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 9:48 a.m. on Dec. 7, Scott Lee Sunvold, age 48, of Renville, was driving a 2003 International semi-truck southbound on Highway 71. At the intersection with Renville County Road 4, the semi collided with an eastbound 2005 Toyota Camry being driven by Silvia Rosalinda Lopez Sebastian, age 19, of Huron, South Dakota.

Lopez Sebastian was taken to the Olivia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, as were her passengers, Daysi Camilia Lopez Lopez, age 1, and Hector Fermin Lopez Perez, age 24, both also of Huron.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office and Olivia Police and Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
