Sleepy Eye man injured in Brown County collision Wednesday

A Sleepy Eye man was injured in a Brown County collision Wednesday morning.

According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, at about 10:20 a.m., Van Mettler, age 56, of Mankato, was traveling westbound on County Road 20 in a 2019 Freightliner truck. Near the intersection with County Road 8, Mettler struck the drivers side of a southbound 2006 Ford F-150 being driven by Shawn Krzmarzick, age 33, of Sleepy Eye.

Mettler stated he did not have any injuries, Krzmarzick was transported to Sleepy Eye Medical Center.

Assisting the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Springfield Ambulance and Minnesota State Patrol.
