Several passengers were injured Friday afternoon when a minivan collided with a semi-truck near Wanda.

At about 2:45 p.m. on Friday, May 29, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was called to a two- vehicle crash at the intersection of County Roads 6 and 4.

According to the preliminary investigation, Alan Chan Yang, of Walnut Grove, was driving a Honda Odyssey northward on County Road 6 when a semi-truck driven by Omar Benitez Ortiz, of Richfield, traveling eastward on County Road 4 failed to stop for a stop sign.

Yang’s passengers were transported to Carris Health – Redwood with non-life threatening injuries. The incident is currently under investigation by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office.
