A snow plow making a left turn on Highway 212 was crashed into by a semi-truck in Renville County Thursday morning.

On Jan. 27, at about 9:04 a.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office got a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 212 and Renville County Road 13, about two miles west of Olivia.

The preliminary crash investigation showed a Renville County snow plow driven by 51 year old Scott Mathiowetz of Olivia, was traveling westbound on Highway 212. At the intersection with Renville County Road 13, Mathiowetz slowed down to make a left turn.

Following the plow truck was a 2004 International Semi, driven by 57 year old Kevin Clouse, of Olivia. Clouse went around the plow to pass and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

No one was injured, but the snow plow sustained minimal damage while Clouse’s vehicle sustained moderate damage.

Assisting on scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol.
