Searchers look for Mankato girl, 8, potentially drowned in Minnesota River

A search of the Minnesota River near Mankato is continuing after authorities say an eight-year-old girl may have drowned there.

Officials say a family with four children was swimming in the river near the sandbar when a witness says two of the kids began to struggle.

One of the children was rescued, but bystanders weren’t able to pull the eight-year-old from the water. Multiple agencies are involved in the search for the girl.
