Renville County is hosting a meeting this Thursday for area residents to learn more about how adverse childhood experiences can impact people for the rest of their lives.

Renville County Jail Administrator Ned Wohlman and Andrew Peltz, Renville County Restorative Justice Coordinator are hosting the Restorative Justice and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) presentation on Thursday, May 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the Renville Community Center, at 221 Main Street North, Renville.

Adverse Childhood Experiences can impact one’s health, both physically and mentally, as we grow older.  Organizers say the facts are alarming, and this session will present the science of ACEs, as well as local statistics.

Participants in this presentation will also be introduced to the philosophy of Restorative Justice and the Circle Process for organizing effective group communication, building relationships to hold people accountable in problem solving situations, and fostering a safe space for difficult conversations.
