Renville County District 2 Commissioner Bob Fox announces he will not seek re-election

Renville County Commissioner Bob Fox announced that he will not seek re-election for the District 2 seat.

“It was not an easy decision.  Serving the citizens of Renville County as commissioner for the past 20 years has been a great honor.  I know I am leaving the Board in good hands with the exceptional leadership of our current board.” stated Fox.

Fox has represented District 2 as Renville County Commissioner since January of 2003.  He currently serves on the Association of Minnesota Counties Board, the National Association of County Agriculture and Rural Affairs steering committee, and is a member of the National Counties Association’s Board of Directors.

When asked what some of the most notable changes made during his tenure were, Fox shared the infrastructure work of ten-ton road systems being connected to better link farm to market roads, along with technology advancements made for county employees, and the work to improve broadband speeds through the county.  “There’s still more to do, but we’ve come a long way in the last decade.” remarked Fox.

“Commissioner Fox will be deeply missed, both as a friend and colleague on the Board.  His leadership, experience, vision, and true professionalism cannot be over stated.  We thank Bob for his service and wish him the very best in the future.” shared Commissioner Kramer.

“I look forward to finishing out my term serving District 2.  I want to thank the citizens and employees of Renville County for allowing me to serve, along with my wife and family, who have always been my biggest supporters.” concluded Fox.

Candidates for County Commissioner may file from May 17, 2022 until May 31, 2022 by 5:00pm with the Renville County Auditor/Treasurer.
