The Renville County Sheriff’s Department pulled over a driver for a traffic violation Monday, and ended up catching a suspect for a variety of drug offenses.

On Feb. 13, a Renville County deputy stopped a car for speeding and suspected the driver to be under the influence of a controlled substance. After speaking with the deputy, the driver attempted to flee from law enforcement, lost control of the vehicle, and entered a ditch.
While deputies processed the scene, they discovered a loaded handgun, 100 Xanax pills, 150 grams of marijuana, marijuana wax, 21 pills of suspected fentanyl, and 5 pills of ecstasy.
The suspect was taken into custody on several offenses and awaits arraignment at the Renville County Jail.
