Renville County may be selling one of its parks. According to KWLM, County Park System Manager Jesse Diehn says they are considering selling the 100-acre Anderson Lake Park on the Minnesota River near Franklin. Diehn says the park is chronically flooded.

A public hearing on the issue will take place at the Renville County Board meeting Tuesday March 28 at 10.m. at the Renville County Government Services Center in Olivia.

Diehn says the public has until 4:30 p.m. Monday to comment on the county seeking a Minnesota DNR Outdoor Recreational Grant to remove the current bathrooms and pump house and build a new shower-bathroom and storm shelter at Lake Allie County Park, northwest of Buffalo Lake. Diehn says they also want to build a camper cabin people can rent.

If the county is awarded the $350,000 grant they would match it with $350,000 for the project.
