Renville County Board appoints Kelsie Kingstrom as new county attorney

Starting April 2, Renville County will have a new county attorney.

The Renville County Board of Commissioners appointed Kelsie Kingstrom to serve as Renville County Attorney for the remainder of the current term.  The appointment is effective April 2, the resignation date of current County Attorney David Torgelson.

The appointment happened at the March 22 board meeting, at which the board also approved appointing David Torgelson to serve as an Assistant County Attorney.

Kingstrom has been serving as an Assistant County Attorney in Renville County since November of 2021. Prior to that, she served as an Assistant County Attorney in Redwood County.

Kingstrom will be sworn in by Judge Knutsen at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, in the large courtroom of the Renville County Courthouse.  The public is invited to attend the swearing in ceremony.
