2 Men Seriously Injured In Renville County Falling Accident
On October 18, 2024 at approximately 6:34 am, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding two individuals that had fallen from scaffolding inside of a storage tank at the Southern MN Beet Sugar Coop in rural Renville County. This location is in the 83XXX block of County Road 21, approximately two (2) miles northeast of the City of Renville in Emmet Township
The preliminary investigation showed two individuals, identified as Chance Anderson (age 22) from Adams, Minnesota and Tedrick Coleman (age 30) from Baton Rouge, Louisiana were working while on top of the scaffolding when coworkers were attempting to reposition the scaffolding when it tipped over, causing the two males to fall approximately 35-40 feet to the ground.
Both victims were removed from the storage tank and received medical care by rescue crews on scene.
Tedrick was flown from the scene by LifeLink III to St. Cloud Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Anderson was transported by Olivia Ambulance to the Olivia Airport where LifeLink III then flew him to St. Cloud Hospital. Anderson also has suspected serious injuries.
Agencies assisting on scene were the Olivia Ambulance Service, Renville Fire Department, Granite Falls Ambulance, LifeLink III.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
