Redwood Falls woman sentenced for assaults, false reporting

A Redwood Falls woman, Zoe Maud Scott, age 25, has been sentenced in Redwood County Court for two separate assaults that occurred last year.
The first on March 20, 2022, involved Scott being stopped by a Minnesota State Patrol officer after being seen driving a car weaving on Highway 67 at 33 mph in a 60 mph zone. During the traffic stop, the officer observed three cans of Coors Light lying on the floor behind the passenger’s seat. A preliminary breath test put Scott’s blood alcohol level at .258.
While in the squad car being driving to the county jail, Scott kicked the interior, damaging the plexigla window. At the jail, Scott went in and out of consciousness. When an ambulace crew arrived, Scott became agitated and reached for a deputy’s firearm holster, and hit another deputy in the face with her head.
For this incident, Scott was sentenced for assault in the fourth degree, criminal damage to property in the third degree, no proof of insurance, and driving while impaired in the fourth degree to a total of 365 days local confinement, stayed for 335 days for three years, supervised probation for three years, and fines and fees totaling $890.
In a separate incident, on July 30, 2022, a Redwood Falls police officer was called to a local bar for a report of an underage drinker. The person making the report was Zoe Scott. When the officer arrived, he discovered Scott attempting to enter a car that wasn’t hers. The accused left the bar, stated she was 23 years old, and that Scott had made a false report. As Scott was being arrested, she hit and kicked at the arresting officers.
At the time, Scott was already on pre-trial release conditions for the March incident, which had a no-alcohol requirement.
For this incident, Scott was sentenced for obstrucing the legal process and falsely reporting a crime to a total of 90 days local confinement, one year supervised probation, and fees and fines of $560.
