For the next two months, sidewalks and corners in Redwood Falls will be surveyed to see if they meed the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. (Image courtesy ADA.gov.)

The City of Redwood Falls is starting a new project to make all existing sidewalks and corners with no ramps compliant with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. This is the first part of a city project to develop a long-term ADA Transition Plan.

As an early step, the regional engineering firm of Bolton & Menk, Inc., will soon begin surveying all existing sidewalks and corners in Redwood Falls to identify any that are currently not ADA compliant.
From now throughout June and July, two employees of Bolton & Menk, Inc. with GPS survey equipment will be working around Redwood Falls. They will have safety vests on with BMI logos.
