Redwood Falls man sentenced for failing to update predatory offender requirements

A Redwood Falls man, Russell George Guy O’Brian, age 26, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for not updating his information as a predatory offender.

According to court documents, on Sept. 15, 2020, a Redwood Falls police officer showed up at a Redwood Falls residence to do a predatory offender registry compliance check on O’Brian, who had listed that address with the state as his permanent address. O’Brian is required to register as a predatory offender until Aug. 2, 2028.

Another person in the residence stated that O’Brian hadn’t lived there since Sept. 6, and the person didn’t know where O’Brian could be found.

At the time O’Brian could not be located, he already had four active probation violation warrants.

On March 25 of this year, O’Brian was sentenced to 36 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud.
