A Redwood Falls man, Jeremy Joseph Geller, age 40, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for a drug offense after being caught driving at over double the speed limit.

According to court documents, on Dec. 8, 2022, at about 11:28 a.m., the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was informed by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office that its deputies were pursuing a vehicle being driven by Geller toward Redwood County at high speed. Geller, who had a revoked drivers license, was reportedly been driving at 68 mph in a 30 mph zone.

At about 12:15 p.m., the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office got a call from someone reporting a strange vehicle in a nearby cattle farm. Law enforcement found the vehicle, and traced the footprints from the driver’s door to Geller, standing in a nearby field. Geller was taken to CentraCare – Redwood, where ambulance personnel found a baggie with methamphetamine on Geller’s person.

On Jan. 30, Geller was sentenced for felony drug offense to, among other penalties, 120 days local confinement, 17 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, stayed for three years, three years supervised probation, and fees and fines of $285.
