A Redwood Falls man, Christopher Michael Gordon, age 43, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for a domestic assault that occurred last November.

According to court documents, on Nov. 22 of last year, at about 11: 30 p.m., the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on Laser Ave. on a report a man had assaulted his girlfriend. The victim claimed that Gordon had hit her in the face while driving home from work, and that he had then fallen out of the vehicle on County Road 6, near 290th Street. Deputies observed facial injuries consistent with her description of what had happened.

Deputies later located Gordon walking southbound on County Road 6 shortly afterward. A review of Gordon’s criminal history showed he had a prior conviction in Arkansas in 2014 for felony domestic battering and aggravated assault on a family or household member.

On Jan. 10, Christopher Michael Gordon was sentenced to local confinement of 365 days, stayed 335 days for two years, with credit for 26 days time served, two years supervised probation, and fees and fines of $335.
