A Redwood Falls man, Jordan Trevor Coulson, 33, was found guilty in Redwood County Court of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringes, County Attorney Jenna Peterson announced Thursday.
According to court records, on July 4, 2019, Coulson was pulled over by law enforcement officers who noted him driving a vehicle they knew did not belong to him.
Officers noted Coulson showed signs of controlled substance use including constriction of his pupils. Coulson’s driver’s license was expired, he drove the vehicle on a daily basis, and he still had not transferred title on the vehicle as he been told to do by officers on previous occasions.
After getting permission to search the vehicle, officers found paraphernalia including hypodermic needles, multiple containers and cotton balls with methamphetamine residue, a butane torch, and a pop can with methamphetamine residue.
Coulson admitted the pop can was his. He stated he mixes water with the methamphetamine and sucks the liquid up with the syringes to inject it. A later forensic analysis confirmed the substance was methamphetamine.
Coulson will be sentenced on October 16, at the Redwood County Courthouse.
