A Redwood Falls man, Michael Anthony McMillan, age 23, was convicted in Redwood County District Court this month of second degree burglary after breaking into a residence last November.

According to court documents, on Nov. 22 the Redwood Falls Police Department was contacted by a man concerned about a possible burglary that had occurred at his son’s residence. Surveillance camera footage from that residence showed two men forcing open the front door early the previous morning; the officer recognized one of the offenders as McMillan.

The officer went to McMillan’s residence, placed him under arrest, and read him his Miranda warning. McMillan admitted going to the victim’s residence with another individual, and that he had some of the victim’s property in his apartment.

On April 11, Michael Anthony McMillan was sentenced to a stay of imposition of local confinement of 60 days, with credit for 60 days time served, five years supervised probation, and $385 in fees and fines.
