Rebuilding 4th Street in Redwood Falls resumes April 8. (KLGR photo)

Construction will resume in Redwood Falls on Monday for the Fourth Street infrastructure and road replacement from Halvorson Street, working west to Mill Street over the next 3-4 months. Starting Monday April 8, Fourth Street will be closed from Halvorson Street to Jefferson Street, including the intersections.

The goal is to replace 60-80 year old water and sewer infrastructure, and connect to the new utility upgrades from the projects on Gould and Drew.  In addition, this will further efforts to meet Federal and State mandated accessible pedestrian corridors through the city.

Fourth Street from Jefferson Street to Washington Street will be closed to thru-traffic and used as a construction staging area.  The city asks drivers avoid travel in this block due to heavy equipment and trucks hauling construction materials.

Walk-Up access to the post office will only be available from the south side of Fourth Street via Washington Street. The Redwood Falls Post Office asks you use the drive-up mailbox located at “The Market” (Tersteeg’s) for mail-drop off.
