New Redwood Falls Police Officer Nicholas Esping was sworn in by Mayor Tom Quackenbush at Tuesday’s Redwood Falls City Council meeting.

Over 20 deer were harvested during the Redwood Falls 2020 Archery Deer Hunt late last year.

At Tuesday’s Redwood Falls City Council meeting, Deer Hunt Coordinator Paul Parsons reported 22 deer were harvested during the city’s sixth annual sponsored deer hunt, which ran from Sept. 19 through Dec. 31. The 26 hunters who were accepted for the program this year spent a total of 802 hours out in pursuit. of harvesting deer. That is an increase from the 16 deer harvested last year.

Also, the council approved a request from the Celebrate Redwood Falls Committee to host a Fire on Ice Fireworks Show on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Memorial Park, in between the pool and the baseball field.
