The City of Redwood Falls will soon officially break ground for its new residential and commercial development project.

The groundbreaking and ribbon cutting ceremony for The Homes of Reflection Prairie and Reflection Ridge Business Park will take place on Thursday, June 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the Redwood Area Community Center, and the community is invited to attend.

Redwood Falls Mayor Tom Quackenbush told KLGR what the public can expect at the ribbon cutting:

The City of Redwood Falls recognized a need for additional housing and commercial opportunities within the surrounding area. The City collaborated with many individuals and community groups to put together a plan to address those needs, resulting in this residential and commercial development project.

Both the residential and commercial developments are located on the east side of Redwood Falls, at the intersection of Highways 24 and 1, and will be completed in multiple phases. The projects will honor the existing landscape and history of the Redwood Falls area while creating new opportunities that benefit the community as a whole.

Although the City is supervising the project, it’s requiring cooperation and funding from other government entities to accomplish:

Phase I includes residential development of 20 standard lots and seven larger estate lots along with three commercial lots. Single-family residential lots will start at $34,900 for .31 to .35 acres, $54,900 for 1 acre, and $74,900 for 1.5 acres. Commercial lots begin at $50,000 per acre and range in size from 3.5 to 5 acres. The City of Redwood Falls Port Authority will accept purchase agreements beginning on June 2, at 3:00 p.m.

Those wishing to schedule a tour or purchase lots should contact Keith Muetzel, City Administrator, at 507-616-7400.
